The City Board of Canvassers proclaimed on May 13 Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero and Vice Mayor Dick G. Bal-o who won as Tabuk City Mayor and Vice Mayor respectively during the 2025 Midterm Election.
Mayor Estrañero who ran unoppose won his third term with 47,759 votes; while Vice Mayor Bal-o garnered 33, 234 votes.
Also proclaimed are newly elected members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Luchie Sarol with 37,106 votes, Marc Ranier Duguiang (35,036), Ivan Yannick Bagayao (34,239), Zorayda Mia Wacnang(34,094), Juan Tomas Duyan (30,649), Eduardo Sacayle (29,155), Samuel Suma-al( 28, 902), Abraham Licaycay (26,595), Jayferson Bon-as (26,535), and Martinez Vicente(17,260).
Atty. Errol Comafay, who garnered the highest vote at 43, 321 in the city council race, was not proclaimed by virtue of COMELEC En Banc’s resolution dated April 4, 2025 on his case docketed as SPA-24-075 (DC), affirming with finality the second division’s decision to deny due course/cancel his Certificate of Candidacy.
City Board of Canvassers Chairperson Gustavo Dalen said that with the en banc decision, it is as if no COC was filed, and votes for Comafay are considered stray.
On May 12, Comafay’s camp filed a motion with the City Board of Canvassers for his proclamation stating that a petition assailing the Comelec en banc and Second Division resolutions is pending before the Supreme Court En Banc.
87.45 % or 65,210 out of the 74,572 registered voters in the city turned out to vote for the 2025 National and Local Elections. By Tabuk PIO
