BONTOC, Mountain Province – Achieving and maintaining peace and order in the community is a shared goal of the municipalities of Bontoc and Sagada, Mountain Province.
This was highlighted during the dialogue between the two municipalities conducted earlier recently, at Sagada Municipal Hall.
After a series of dialogues, both parties agreed to solve the long-running boundary dispute by passing Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolutions amending the Cadastral Survey conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in the year 2012 in Fedilisan, Sagada and the 2014 Cadastral Survey in Dalican, Bontoc.
The said resolutions which will be passed by the SB of Bontoc and SB of Sagada will then be endorsed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to the DENR for immediate action.
The resolutions would also be in support of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) forged between the two barangays in May 2005.
The dialogue was attended by Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., Sagada Mayor Felicito Dula, Sangguniang Bayan Members of both municipalities, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, Hon. Ezra Samson Gomez, Hon. Angel Moises Tamang, Hon. Henry Bastian, Hon. Johnson Bantog, and Barangay Officials and community members from Barangay Dalican, Bontoc, and Barangay Fedilisan, Sagada.
