BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Sangguniang Bayan in its regular session on July 29, 2024, passed a resolution authorizing the Municipal Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Northland Technical Institute (TI) represented by its President, Winifred G. Cue, for the provision of Events Management Services in the municipality.
Before this, the SB received a letter from Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., requesting a resolution authorizing him to enter into a MOA with the Northland Technical Institute, Inc.- an institution accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in providing training programs and various services such as Events Management Services.
In its Resolution No. 407, S. 2024, the SB stated that the Northland TI had expressed its intent to partner with the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) in the conduct of various activities in the municipality for the provision of Events Management Services.
“The Municipal Government of Bontoc throughout the years, has been hosting several crowd-drawing activities, programs, and events attended by significant number of people to include guest speakers and dignitaries, thus, such partnership with an institution who can provide management services in the conduct of various events in the municipality is necessary,” the resolution further stated.
The SB recognized that the collaborative effort between the Bontoc LGU and the Northland TI paves the way for improved planning and execution of various activities, programs, and events, benefiting the community and fostering growth and development. Also, the approval of Resolution No. 407, series of 2024, demonstrates a commitment to enhancing events management services, ultimately benefiting the residents of Bontoc.
Likewise, the SB addressed and acted upon barangay indorsements. Punong Barangay Jones Managtag of Talubin endorsed Barangay Ordinance No. 002, S. 2024, for review and approval titled: An Ordinance Regulating Solid Waste Management in Barangay Talubin, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Also, PB Managtag in its letter endorsed Resolution No. 10, s. 2024 for review and approval of the Sangguniang Bayan. This resolution aims to realign the amount of 673,197.20 from the 20% Barangay Development Fund of CY 2024 Intended for the Construction of the Footbridge at Dossu, Barangay Talubin to the Construction of Boundary Arc, Construction of Pathway, and Waiting Shed at Pinantew, Talubin, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
