BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Fire Station is reminding the public to always keep access routes clear during emergencies, emphasizing that unobstructed roads are critical for timely fire and rescue operations.
This was highlighted during the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) meeting held on June 17, 2025, in Barangay Bayyo, where representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported on the current state of fire safety and emergency response in the municipality.
According to SFO1 Albert Anongos, Jr., of the Bontoc Fire Station, critical response times are delayed due to obstructed access routes including motorists failing to give way to fire trucks and ambulances.
The Bontoc Fire Station also appealed for greater public cooperation during emergencies, such as promptly reporting incidents through their official hotline: 0949-905-4568. By Christy Mae C. Pangesfan
