BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Municipal Police Station welcomed its new Chief of Police on June 3, 2022, during the Turn-over of Command Ceremony held at the Mayor’s Conference Hall of the Bontoc Municipal Capitol.
Outgoing Chief of Police PMAJ Joshua Mateo expressed his utmost gratitude to the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) especially the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Municipal Health Office (MHO), Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS), Municipal Fire Station (MFS), Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Department of Health (DOH), and other partner agencies for their support and cooperation.
“Having been assigned as the Chief of Police here in the capital town of Mountain Province has been a great opportunity for me. I thank my colleagues in the Bontoc MPS for their support and for always demonstrating teamwork” he said.
PMAJ Mateo assumed as the Chief of Police of the Bontoc MPS last March 2021.
Meanwhile, the incoming Chief of Police PMAJ Pedro Tactay lauded the efforts of the outgoing Chief of Police for the efforts exerted in maintaining Bontoc, a safe and orderly community.
“Every time a police officer is assigned to a new place of assignment, it is a challenge and an opportunity for growth,” he said.
He also expressed his commitment to work as the Chief of Police of the Bontoc MPS based on the doctrines of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the betterment of the Municipality of Bontoc.
Meanwhile, Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker commended PMAJ Mateo for his leadership and services rendered to the municipality.
“PMAJ Mateo took over as the Chief of Police of Bontoc at a critical period, when there was a sudden surge of COVID-19 positive cases in the municipality. During those trying times, the Bontoc MPS, under the able leadership of PMAJ Mateo, has always been there and worked harmoniously with the Bontoc LGU and other stakeholders,” he remarked.
Further, Mayor Odsey assured the incoming Chief of Police that the people and officialdom of Bontoc will continuously support all the programs and undertakings of the PNP.
