BONTOC, Mountain Province – A unique and different way to spend a Valentine’s date this month of February is being offered by the Bontoc Municipal Government through its Bontoc Municipal Library.
This is in coordination with the Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School (MPGCHS) Library.
Dubbed “Blind Date with a Book”, all you have to do is pick a wrapped book at the Bontoc Municipal Library or at the MPGCHS Library blind date display for you to read.
According to Librarian Chamreine Casiwen, the “Blind Date with a Book” is open to 12 to 18 years old.
She added that 100 different books has been wrapped in which every participants can pick one wrapped book to read and return it on or before February 22, 2019 alongside with a Rating Slip. She explained that the reader-participant has to write his/ her impression of the book in the Rating Slip.
Aside from this, at least three participants will receive surprise gifts through a raffle of the number of wrapped books that they have borrowed on February 28, 2019.
Casiwen remarked that the activity aimed to raise awareness on the invaluable service that the libraries render. This includes providing data and materials for the lifelong knowledge and learning, for research and leisure. Also, it aimed to promote the value of reading.
Interested individuals who wish to be part of the “Blind Date with a Book” may visit the Bontoc Municipal Library, located at the 3rd Floor, Bontoc Municipal Capitol. It is open from Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
