BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) is reminding motorists/ drivers of road safety.
During 1st quarter meeting of the MDRRMC recently, LDRRM Officer Henrietta Claire Lingbanan of the MDRRM Office–Operations and Warning Section reported that from January 1-February 3, 2023, Bontoc recorded four vehicular traffic accidents (VTA), one drowning, one fall, and one suicide.
With this, Mayor and MDRRMC Chairperson Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., is appealing to drivers/ motorists to strictly follow traffic rules.
With regard to VTAs that transpired in different locations in Bontoc, Tudlong solicited the assistance of everyone in the distributing information on BLOWBAGETS. The PNP came up with the “BLOWBAGETS” which is an acronym for a driver’s checklist and stands for battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tire, and self.
Meanwhile, with the five-day midyear-break of students on February 6-10, 2023, the MDRRMC is reminding the parents and guardians to be vigilant as to the whereabouts of their children to avoid and prevent untoward incidents.
