BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Municipal Accounting Office has once again been recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Municipal Accounting Offices in the Philippines for Fiscal Year 2023.
The prestigious award was conferred by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) during their annual recognition of exceptional performance in financial reporting.
The AGAP recognizes accounting offices of local government units, national government agencies, and government-owned and controlled corporations for their quality, timely, accurate, and complete financial reports. The awardees are selected based on the recommendations of the Commission on Audit.
Municipal Accountant Yolanda Comafay expressed deep pride and heartfelt gratitude for the prestigious recognition and emphasized that the award reflects the unwavering dedication and hard work of the entire team.
“This award is a testament to the power of teamwork. Our collective efforts, tireless dedication, and unwavering commitment making sure our municipality’s financial reports are top-notch, always on time and completely accurate have earned us this honor. We all played a crucial role in achieving this success, proving that together, we can accomplish anything,” Comafay added.
Meanwhile, Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., commended the Municipal Accounting Office for its consistent excellence and highlighted their critical role in ensuring transparency and accountability in local governance.
“Their hard work behind the scenes ensures that every peso is accounted for, and that our financial reports are accurate and timely. This recognition brings pride not only to our municipality but also serves as an inspiration for all government offices to uphold the highest standards of public service,” Tudlong said.
