BONTOC, Mountain Province – The first-ever Creative Street Dancing competition marked the 116th Foundation Day of this capital town with a showcase of local talent. Various high schools performed in front of an enthusiastic crowd, celebrating culture and community.
Saint Vincent’s School Inc. (SVSI) claimed the champion title with their performance on “Og-ogfo,” earning an average score of 97.225 and receiving a total of ₱40,000, which included the original ₱30,000 prize from the municipal government and an additional ₱10,000 from Congress representative Maximo Dalog, Jr.
Mainit National High School took the First Runner-Up spot, with their performance featuring “Te-er Hi Hamar,” garnering an average score of 93.47 and receiving ₱35,000, including ₱25,000 from the municipal government and ₱10,000 from Dalog.
Albago National High School earned the Second Runner-Up position with “Legend of Kaman-utek,” which scored 92.5 taking home ₱30,000, including ₱20,000 from the municipal government and an additional ₱10,000 from Dalog.
Dalican National High School placed as Third Runner-Up with their performance on “Vegnas,” scoring 91.71 and awarded ₱25,000, with ₱15,000 from the municipal government and ₱10,000from Dalog.
Other participating schools included Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School, Tocucan National High School, Talubin National High School, Guina-ang National High School, and All Saints Mission School each received a consolation prize amounting to ₱20,000.
In this regard, Bontoc Mayor Tudlong expressed his gratitude for the participation of the schools and their efforts in showcasing local culture. He highlighted the importance of preserving traditions through creative expression and commended the students for their hard work and dedication to the competition.
