BAGUIO CITY – City officials recently waived the entrance fees for government employees and barangay officials in the city to the Botanical Christmas Garden from November 25, 2024 to January 6, 2025.
Under Resolution No. 710, series of 2024, local legislators stated that government employees and barangay officials will be eligible for the entrance fee waiver upon presenting their valid employee or barangay identification cards.
Further, barangay officials must submit a formal visit letter and coordinate with the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) prior to their scheduled visit to ensure smooth access and participation.
The council noted that the Botanical Christmas Garden is a signature event in the city’s annual celebration of the Yuletide season which is scheduled to take place from November 21, 2024 to January 6, 2025 offering a festive display of lights and decorations that attract both locals and visitors.
Moreover, the body claimed that in recognition of the invaluable service of government workers and barangay officials, it was proposed to grant them complimentary access to the Botanical Christmas Garden as an incentive to honor their dedication, hardwork, and significant contributions to the public sector.
The body said that the desired incentive is intended to promote greater participation from government employees and barangay officials in advancing the city’s tourism development and environmental conservation efforts, aligning with the city’s ongoing commitment to the said important goals.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the city’s barangays and the CEPMO for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
