LAGAWE, Ifugao – A 14-year old body died after he was accidentally shot by a still unidentified assailant with the use of an air gun in a forested area at Olilicon, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Fredie Mar Tayaban Tangid, 14, and resident of Barangay Olilicon, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, together with his 14-year old cousin, brought with them their air guns and went hunting in the forest.
However, concerned residents informed him that his son was allegedly shot with the use of an air gun and a few minutes later, the victim’s cousin, together with some companions, were seen rushing the wounded individual to the hospital from the forest.
The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound on his chest, was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain the culprit behind the untimely demise of the victim.
