TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Office of the City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO), headed by CLGOO Helen Lacuesta, led the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) Assessment known for its localized term ‘Gangsa Awards’ Performance Assessment, on April 10, 2024, in barangay Agbannawag and Bulo, Tabuk City.
The Gangsa Awards is a performance assessment and recognition system by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) that evaluates barangays based on their performance in various governance areas and gives recognition to their efforts in demonstrating invaluable dedication to public service.
According to the CLGOO, the assessment of performance will consider governance areas such as financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; peace and order and public safety; business friendliness; environmental protection, and social services, including health services and education, among others.
The process of assessment included a document review, an interview to validate the information in their record, an ocular visit to facilities, and then the presentation of the initial result, where the assessment team pointed out some areas of their governance and services that needed improvements.
Compared to previous years, Lacuesta recognized the significant improvement of both barangays in their preparation of various documents needed for the assessment.
