LICUAN-BAAY, Abra November 21 – A 42-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked by his younger brother during a heated altercation inside their residence at Dinglay, Mogao, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as Danilo Salingbay Batoon, 42, married, farmer and and a resident of Mogao, Licuan-Baay, Abra while the suspect was named as his younger brother Alonso Salingbay Batoon, 29, married, farmer a resident of Domenglay, Licuan-Baay, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect and his wife had a misunderstanding that prompted his wife to seek assistance from the victim.
However, the intervention of the victim suddenly resulted in a fistfight until the latter wen home. When he came back, he was already armed with a bolo and hacked his older brother twice on his back until the incident was pacified by cooler heads.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment where he was later confined while the suspect fled towards an undisclosed direction after the incident.
