LAGANGILANG, Abra March 24 – A 36-year old man was hurt after he was hacked by his 26-year old brother during a heated altercation in their residence at Lusuacan, Laguiben, here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Manuel Jacinto Baril, 36, while he named t6he suspect as Marvin Jacinto Baril 26, both residents of sitio Lusuacan, Laguiben, Lagangilang, Abra.
Ini5ial police investigation showed that the brothers were having a drinking session when a heated argument suddenly erupted between them.
At this juncture, the suspect was able to grab a bolo and hacked the victim on his head before fleeing the crime scene.
The victim was rushed by family members to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives while about to board a passenger bus bound outside the province.
The suspect is now detained at the Lagangilang Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against him.
