PINUPUK, Kalinga – A farmer was injured after he was reportedly stabbed by his own brother-in-law during a heated altercation inside the latter’s house at barangay Taggay, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the stabbing victim as Camilo Banatao alias “Ambut”, married, farmer while he named the suspect as his own brother-in-law Kevin June Banato alias “Bakidan”, farmer, both residents of Taggay, Pinukpuk, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had a drinking session inside the latter’s house when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between them that resulted to the victim sustaining several stab wounds.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment while the suspect fled towards an undisclosed direction and he is now the subject of a manhunt by responding police operatives.
The motive of the case is yet to be established considering that the incident is still subject to further investigation by the local police force.
