LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—The basketball teams of Bugallon, San Carlos City, Urdaneta City and Alaminos City and the volleyball teams of Alaminos City, Rosales, Sta. Barbara and Bayambang were the top four best performing contingents in the just-concluded quarterfinals of the 1st Pangasinan Inter-LGU Unity Games 2017.
Latest team rankings (win-loss) for basketball are as follows: 1) Bugallon, 6-1; 2) San Carlos City, 6-1; 3) Urdaneta City, 5-2; and Alaminos City, 4-3.
Bugallon Mayor Jumel Anthony I. Espino III personally led his team and was among the top scorers in almost all its outings. The team only suffered one loss along with San Carlos team who placed second in rankings.
Meanwhile, the volleyball quarter finals team rankings (win-loss) with their total points are as follows: 1) Alaminos City, 7-0, 508 pts; 2) Rosales, 5-2, 480 pts; 3) Sta. Barbara, 5-2, 473 pts; 4) Bayambang, 4-3, 450 pts.
The volleyball team of Rosales which occupied the second place was led by Mayor Susan Casareno, who played in almost all its outings to boost her team.
The four basketball and volleyball teams will vie against each other in scheduled games starting this week to determine the champion team.
The inter-LGU unity games alongwith the Inter-Town/City Basketball Tournament and Inter-Agency Basketball Tournament was launched by Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III to provide a venue for Pangasinense youth, government officials and employees to build friendship and camaraderie via friendly competitions.
