La Trinidad – Buguias finally disposed off the Kapangan Dusty Roads to advance in the semifinals of the Laity Cup’s BBA. Buguias farmed-out an 83-77 quarterfinal win over the Dusty Roads last August 4, 2016 at the San Jose Gym to earn a face-off with the Kibungan Rockwall.
The Dusty Road, entering the playoffs as the eight seed, could not solve the top seed Buguias on the court this time after it forced a do-or-die match when Buguias decided to default its July 23 match. Buguias is set to face the Rockwall in the semis, who earlier eliminated Mankayan on July 23.
In the other games, seventh seed Bakun stayed alive by upending second seed La Trinidad Berries, 87-77, while sixth seed Agi-Kabayan did the same by defeating the third seed Tublay Owls via forfeiture. The do-or-die matches are set later this week where the winner of each series will meet in the semifinals.
