The road beautification activity is an annual program of the Provincial Tourism Office which according to Provincial Chief Tourism Officer Eleazar Carias aims at encouraging every Benguet town to clean and beautify the road sides in their areas of jurisdiction by planting flowers, shrubs and other decorative plants to highlight the identity of their municipality.
Carias added that the program is also supporting the Dengue Prevention and Control Program of the DOH “as it emphasizes on the clean-up drive along the roadside to help eliminate mosquito-breeding areas and prevent the possible surge in dengue cases.”
