BAGUIO CITY – The City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) requested all business establishments and tourist spots with parking spaces in the city to support the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) ViewBaguio application by installing an information board showing the number of available parking slots in their respective establishments.
Under Resolution No. 16, series of 2025 which was unanimously approved during the CPOC’s second quarter meeting, the immediate installation of the parking information boards would provide valuable information to motorists to help them find available parking spaces efficiently thereby reducing congestion and traffic-related issues in their respective areas.
The resolution stated that Baguio, being a highly urbanized city and famous tourist destination, is frequently challenged by heavy traffic due to the constant influx of visitors and the high volume of vehicles passing through the city.
Earlier, the BCPO conceptualized and rolled out the BCPO ViewBaguio app which provides real time information regarding traffic situation, available parking slots, and crowd estimates in the different tourist spots and places of convergence in the city, thus, all private and government owned parking areas and tourist spots shall install the necessary parking information board displaying the number of available parking slots in a visible area of the establishments entrance or counter to enhance the application’s accuracy.
The CPOC pointed out that the display of available parking slots provides valuable data to the BCPO ViewBaguio app, ensuring up to date and reliable information for motorists.
BCPO as a member of the CPOC is responsible in implementing strategies to promote public safety, prevent crimes, ease traffic congestion, enforce traffic laws and address traffic-related challenges in the city pursuant to the Constitution and other related laws, rules and regulations.
The approved CPOC resolution will be transmitted to the concerned offices of the local government and the local legislative body for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
