BAGUIO CITY – A 41-year old businessman died after he was reportedly shot to death by two still unidentified armed men in front of his residence at St. Joseph St., Purok 22, Sariling Sikap, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, here Thursday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Dominique Fernandez Tan, 41, married, businessman and a resident of Purok 22, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the members of his family just alighted from a taxi that ferried them from the city proper to their place.
At this juncture, two armed men suddenly appeared from nowhere and suddenly fired at the victim several times hitting him on the different parts of his body causing him to be sprawled bloodied on the ground.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he expired after several hours of being accorded with the appropriate medical supervision.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene five spent shells and two deformed slugs of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
Probers are still ascertaining whether or not the shooting incident is related to the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
