LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 44-year old businessman was hurt after he was allegedly repeatedly punched by his deaf mute cousin in front of the post office at Km. 5 here recently.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Mr. Arturo Camsol Tudias, 44, married, businessman, native of Kapangan, Benguet, and a resident at No.14, Orchids Street, San Luis, Baguio City while he named the suspect as his cousin Cesar Atiyen Tudias, of legal age, unemployed, single, deaf mute, and a resident at JC-161, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect reportedly met at the place of incident and the latter was allegedly telling him something which he could not understand.
At this juncture, the suspect repeatedly punched the victim prompting him to seek assistance from passers-by.
The victim was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives.
The case is still subject to further investigation considering the possibility of amicable settlement as they are relatives.
