LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 50-year old cable collector died after he was reportedly shot to death by still unidentified assailants while seated on his rocking chair within the compound of their residence at Pico, here, Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as David Tacpe Joaquin, 50, married, collector of Mountain View Cable, native of Gonogon, Bontoc, Mt. Province and a resident at JD-153 Bayabas, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim told his family during a gathering the day before he was found dead that he was held up by still unidentified suspects along the alley near a grocery store along Km. 4 last April 15.
His son informed probers that he left his father seated on his rocking chair the day before he was found dead but the following day, his wife saw her husband lifeless with blood oozing from his body.
He was immediately rushed to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead n arrival by attending physicians.
Responding police personnel recovered a calibre .38 revolver near the victim’s rocking chair, thus, the case is still subject to further investigation by the local police force.
