BAGUIO CITY – A 58-year old member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) died after he lost control of his motorcycle while travelling along the Tuding road, particularly within the jurisdiction of Outlook Drive here around 4:30 pm Tuesday.
SPO3 Eugene Araos, investigator on case of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station No. 3, identified the victim as Gabriel Odic Tami, 58, married, a CAFGU member assigned with the 77th Infantry Battalion in Kalinga and a resident of Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle and travelling along the Tuding road when he reportedly lost control of the same causing him to fall of his motorcycle and bang his head and body on the concrete pavement.
Witnesses informed SPO3 Araos and PO1 Norton Ligante that the victim’s motorcycle was on its moderate speed while travelling along the roadline but the vehicle had reportedly swerved several times before the victim lost control of it that resulted to the said accident.
Concerned residents in bystanders in the area immediately rushed the victim to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
Araos said the victim’s motorcycle was also damaged as a result of the accident the victim was brought home by his relatives to their residence in Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet where he will be given a descent wake and burial.
Araos advised motorists travelling along various roads in the different parts of the city to observe the necessary precautions in order to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents that could lead to the loss of lives and inflict damage to properties.
