LUNA, Apayao – After consolidation and validation, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Calanasan showed in its latest report on November 19 the number of families affected by Typhoon Marce in town reached 4,083.
The most impacted barangay is Poblacion with 725 families, followed by Tanglagan (556), Eva Garden (330), Namaltugan (286), and Sta. Filomena (275), Butao (197), Ferdinand (183), Cadaclan (181), Kabugawan (153), Macalino (151), Ninoy Aquino (145), Sabangan (129), Naguilian (115), Tubongan (103), Parina (90), Sta. Elena (76), Don Roque (74), Langnao (72), Bucarot (29), and Eleazar (age 18).
The MSWDO said there were a total of 196 persons who were evacuated to various evacuation centers in the municipality.
Tanglagan evacuation center recorded 32, Sta. Elena (6), Sta. Filomena (31), Butao (4), Tubongan (25), Sabangan (10), Eleazar (28), Namaltugan (4), Kabugawan (1), Poblacion (14), and Ninoy (2), Eva Garden (15), and Naguilian (24).
Aside from these, the MSWDO recorded 356 partially damaged houses and 14 completely damaged houses.
The staff of the municipal government, MSWDO, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, and the barangays collaborated to provide a total of 3,162 family food packs to the various households affected by the disaster.
The municipal and provincial government were coordinating to give possible assistance to the affected families. By Loremia Pareja
