SAN JUAN, La Union – A Canadian was killed and a Filipino companion was seriously injured when they were shot by unidentified suspects while they were having a drinking session in Barangay Taboc this town on Wednesday night while two other individuals in the drug watch list of Bauang town and San Fernando City were also killed by suspected vigilantes.
Chief Inspector Siverio Ordinado Jr, La Union police information officer, identified the Canadian as Niranjan Sachithanantham, 39, a businessman, and his wounded companion as Edgar Obras, 30, both residents of Barangay Taboc and both included in the list of illegal drug personalities.
The Canadian allegedly suffered several gunshot wounds from calibre 45 on his body and head and was rushed to the Bacnotan District Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival while Obras sustained gun shot on his right armed and was rushed to the Lorma Medical Center in San Fernando City for treatment.
Investigation showed that the victims were having a drinking session at Niranjan’s house when suddenly unidentified suspects appeared and fired at them several times. Suspects allegedly fled on board a motorcycle.
In Bauang town, Arjay Isla, 29, an alleged illegal drug pusher who surrendered recently, was gunned down by unidentified suspects while he is standing in front the barangay hall of Central West.
He died on the spot due to multiple gunshots on his head and body. The suspects allegedly used a calibre 45 and fled on board a motorcycle.
In San Fernando City, Angeles Bautista, 35, a resident of Barangay Poro and listed as illegal drug pusher who worked at the Solas Bar in Barangay Madayegdeg, was killed by unidentified suspects who shot him in front the Bar at around 1:00 a. m. Thursday.
