LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Amado I. Espino, III leads the opening of the 2nd Pagalaw tan Olopan ed Gobyerno Itanduro (POGI) sportsfest for Capitol employees on November 16 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center gymnasium.
A sports and fitness program of the provincial administration, the POGI sportsfest is participated in by seven competing teams comprised of clustered offices and hospitals of the provincial government, namely: Financiers, Builders, Generals, Benchmark, Warriors, Legislators and Medics.
Sporting events competed this year include: basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, tug-of-war, volleyball, and unity fun run.
POGI sportsfest sees a competitive clash among competing teams. Last year, Benchmark reigned supreme as it amassed 349.5 over-all points to secure the most-coveted top plum of the sportsfest’s maiden edition.
Benchmark team earned 95.5 more points to edge archrival Warriors team which settled in 1st runner-up spot with 254 points.
Landing as 2nd runner-up, Generals team scored 229.5 points. Third to sixth runners – up were: Legislators (154 pts.), Builders (152.5 pts.), Medics (145 pts.) and Financiers (109.5 pts).
The POGI sportsfest runs from November 16 to December 19.
The POGI sportsfest is a continuing employee development program of the provincial government, which is formerly named as Anguan Tan Ehersisyo (ATE) initiated by former Governor and now 5th district Representative Amado T. Espino, Jr.
