CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – A notorious criminal gang leader involved in a series of Highway Robbery, Theft of Motorcycle, Gun Smuggling and Selling of Illegal Drugs operating inKalinga and the nearby provinces of Region 2 and tagged as the No.10 Top Most Wanted Person (TMWP) last year in the Cordillera region finally landed in the arms of the operating units of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-COR) in the morning of January 17, 2015 in Purok 5, Trinanes Street, Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
The painstaking effort of the united force of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Kalinga Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Hi-way Patrol Group (HPG), and members of the Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU- 14) in conducting investigation and intelligence and monitoring resulted in the arrest of the Most Wanted Person in the region.
The group of Freddie Mar AMBASING was validated to be involved in Highway Robbery, Theft of Motorcycle, Gun Smuggling and Selling of Illegal Drugs. He was likewise listed as the No. 1 TMWP for the 3rd and 4rth Quarter of2014 of Regional Hi-way Patrol Unit (RHPU-CAR) and No. 10 TMWP for 1st Quarter 2014 in the Cordillera Region.
Based on police records, a notable increase of robbery incidents and other crimes against properties specifically theft of motorcycles within the province of Kalinga and nearby provinces of Region 2 were noted on the 2nd Quarter of 2011 up to 2013.
Judge Marcelino K Wacas, Regional Trial Court of the of Branch 25 in Tabuk City, Kalinga issued the Warrants of Arrest of Ambasing for the crime of Two counts of Robbery; Two counts of Robbery with intimidation; Robbery with Violence and Intimidation; and Carnapping, with a total bail of P1,380,000.00.
Ambasing is now under the custody of the RIU-14 for debriefing prior to his turn-over to the court concerned.
