With the inflation rate across the country still hovering above 8 percent according to the most recent government data, many more Filipinos are going into debt just to make ends meet.
Conflicts usually arise, however, when borrowers fail to pay back their loans, or when businesses are unable to pay for services already rendered to them.
Issues of contracts and obligations are top of mind on this Sunday’s episode of Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda, or CIA with BA, GMA’s newest public service program helmed by sibling Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano and co-hosted by the country’s King of Talk Boy Abunda.
In the episode airing March 12, two former lovers are locked in a bitter fight over money and property. The ‘Case-2-Face’ segment shows the man accusing the woman of carting away his savings after they agreed to use the money to build several housing units that were eventually left unfinished.
In the ‘Payong Kapatid’ portion, a group of van rental service providers seek advice on how to go forward with cases they plan to file against a company that contracted their services but has failed to pay them for more than a year already.
The sibling Senators end the show on a positive note as they play the classic rock-paper-scissors game and other Pinoy-favorite parlor games with the studio audience in the ‘Alan, Pia, Pik’ segment. They also honor a group of community educators in the show’s ‘Salamat’ segment.
Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda – or CIA with BA for short – is a continuation of the legacy of the senators’ late father Senator Rene Cayetano, who was known for his radio and television program “Compañero y Compañera” which aired from 1997 to 2001.
Like their father, the Cayetano siblings now address the people’s need for information and guidance regarding Philippine laws and how to apply them in real life situations.
CIA with BA, which the two senators co-host with King of Talk Boy Abunda, airs every Sunday at 11:30 p.m. on GMA, with replays on Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. on GTV. Stay tuned in for updates on social media via @cayetanoinactionwithboyabunda on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube.
