TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Building and Architecture Office (CBAO) remitted more than PhP1.2 million collections this year from the issuance of building permits to the City Treasury Office as of July 26, 2024.
According to CBAO Assistant Department Head Milven Manzano, the amount was generated from the 144 building permits they issued in the city, comprising 71 walk-ins and 73 under the online processing system.
Aside from building permits, the CBAO has issued occupancy permits with payments of approximately PhP500,000.
Manzano also added that they issued inspection certificates amounting to PhP790,000 and 78 electrical permits amounting to PhP15,600.
He urged those seeking to build residences or business establishments to obtain the relevant permits in compliance with the National Building Code and other relevant laws.
He reminded individuals who are constructing without the proper permits that they are breaking the law and may face a violation notice.
Those who have received a notice of violation must secure the necessary permit otherwise, they will issue an order to stop construction. They are also expected to comply within the specified timeframe.
He also noted that their office strictly Implements the granting of electrical permits in building construction, which is a necessary prerequisite to the construction of any building or establishment. By Ian Addatu
