LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eight centenarians in the province have recently received cash incentives from the Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas in honor of the senior citizens of their contributions not only to their families but also to their communities.
Each of the centenarians was given P10,000.00 and a sack of rice which were personally delivered by personnel of the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD).
The centenarians are Badda Sacla Wawes, 104, from Gaswiling, Kapangan; Toribio Pakilo Padilan, 103, from Ambiong, La Trinidad; Carmen Eckman Gabriel, 101, from Bahong, La Trinidad; Benita Imperial Tinio, 101, from Beckel, La Trinidad; Magsia Adipos Fronda, 100, from Loacan, Itogon; Sabian Bantas Amdos, 100, from Ambongdolan, Tublay; Felomina Alicay Segundo, 100, from Sinacbat, Bakun; and Esther Botengan Sagalla, 100, from Betag, La Trinidad. Lola Magsia and lola Sabian, however, are no longer with us. Their incentives were received by their families.
According to OPSWD, four of the eight have already received a P100,000.00 cash gift from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD).
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Benguet has allotted cash incentives to centenarians. Families with members who are 100 years old and above who have not yet received the same incentive are encouraged to seek assistance from their respective Municipal Local Government Unit through their Municipal SWD.
