CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), and the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding recently signifying their joint efforts in the development of the Clark International Aviation Campus at the Clark Aviation Capital.

“With this strategic partnership, we’re looking at the further advancement of our country’s aviation education, infrastructure and innovation. Our aim is to produce globally-qualified and high-performing personnel that will meet the strong global demand for aviation-industry workers and professionals,” CIAC President Jojit Alcazar said.

The Clark International Aviation Campus will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities with comprehensive curricula, and will be strategically situated near the Clark International Airport inside the government-owned civil aviation complex.

“The Philippines’ civil aviation education needs an industry upgrade, starting with reputable and comprehensive pilot training programs, along with skills training in components and assembly manufacturing which will expand into production engineering, procurement and distribution. CAAP and PhilSCA will be our partners in this mission,” Alcazar added.

The CIAC President and CEO, CAAP Director General Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario (Ret.) and PhilSCA President Marwin Dela Cruz signed the MOU at the Civil Aviation Training Auditorium in Pasay City last Friday.

“When government agencies and academic institution work together, it will result to something transformative. This is just a beginning of a shared commitment to bring the Philippine aviation sector towards greater heights,” Del Rosario said.

PhilSCA’s Dela Cruz said the projected aviation education hub in Clark “will be able to contribute around 13 million directs jobs in the aviation industry and about Php1.7 trillion in GDP up to 2038″.

CAAP is an attached agency of the Department of Transportation tasked to regulate the Philippines’ civil aviation industry to ensure safe air travel, including areas like air traffic management, air navigation service, and airport operations.

PhilSCA, on the other hand, provides advanced technological studies in the field of aeronautical sciences and aviation as the country’s premier aviation training institution.

The tripartite collaboration includes research and development projects, technology transfer and support, capacity-building and technical staff training and student internship.

As part of CIAC’s Seven Flagship Projects, Clark International Aviation Campus will be located Clark Aviation Capital the country’s future premier aviation-centric business and logistics center at the heart of Luzon.
