CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A suspect of a kidnapping incident with serious illegal detention in Ilocos Norte was arrested yesterday in his hiding place in Sta. Teresita, Quezon City by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 1 (CIDG1) here.
Superintendent Angeles Genorga Jr, CIDG 1 officer-in-charge, identified the suspect as Johnny Quitoriano who was listed as among the top most wanted persons in regional and national levels with P120,000 bounty for his arrest.
The suspect was also listed as a member of a private armed group in Ilocos Norte and also involved in illegal drug trafficking.
Genorga said his personnel from Ilocos Norte went on to implement the warrant of arrest against the suspect after they trace his location in Quezon City.
The warrant was issued by Judge Angelo Albano of the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
The suspect allegedly kidnapped a woman on January 2006 but authorities won’t disclose the exact details of the incident for the victim’s security.
The arrest of the suspect was Genorga’s first accomplishment since he assumed as officer-in-charge Monday, July 27, after he replaced Sr. Supt. Francisco Esguerra who now assigned at Camp Crame.
