CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) regional office here seized an arms cache in a raid in Dagupan City while two most wanted persons were arrested in separate operations conducted in La Union and Ilocos Sur, according to report reaching this Camp yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Francisco Esguerra, CIDG1 regional chief, said that joint police and CIDG personnel recovered a cal. 5.56 baby Armalite, two hand grenades, three long and five short magazines for baby Armalite, two magazines for cal 45, and 80 pieces live ammunitions for cal 5.56 during the implementation of search warrant in the house of Rudy Padilla Sr. and his son Rudy Padilla Jr. in Lucao District, Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
Esguerra said the raiding team arrested two occupants of the house identified as Bernabe Padilla and certain Tattong but the father and son has evaded arrest.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Renato Pinlac of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 57 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
Arrested suspects and confiscated items were brought to Pangasinan CIDG for proper documentation and disposition.
Meanwhile Esguerra reported that Lito Flores, 32, who was wanted for carnapping charges, was arrested by the joint of elements of La Union CIDG, the provincial intelligence branch of La Union police and Aringay police station in Barangay San Benito Sur, Aringay, La Union.
Esguerra said Flores was arrested based on warrant of arrest issued by Hon Judge Agapito K. Laoangan of the Regional Trial Court, Br-64, of Abatan Buguias, Benguet dated April 16, 2015 for carnapping with a recommended bailbond of P180,000.00 for his temporary liberty.
Suspect was turned-over to Aringay police station for documentation prior to his turn-over to the court.
Esguerra also reported that detectives and investigators of CIDG1 and the joint personnel of Vigan City and Bantay police stations served the warrant of arrest against Romeo Feril, top 10 most wanted person of Vigan City.
Suspect was arrested at Barangay 6, Vigan City based on the warrant issued by Hon. Gina Juan-Chan of RTC First Judicial Region Br. 21, Vigan City dated January 30, 2015 for the crime of rape with no bailbond recommended.
Arrested person is now under the custody of Vigan City for proper disposition.
