TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Office of City Agricultural Services clarified that the name of recipients was provided by the national agency in response to some unlisted beneficiaries’ questions about the distribution of P5,000.00 from the Department of Agriculture (DA) through its Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF)- Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) to farmers in the city last March 10-13.
The final list of farmers was generated by the national government, according to City Agricultural Services Officer Nobleto Sagun.
“Dagidiay farmers nga awan iti nagan na, diay listaan nga na-generate ket naggapu iti national. In-submit mi iti master list iti region. Inted met iti region idiay national. Idi bummaba diay listaan, adu iti awan”, Sagun explained.
The agency provided cash support to 94 percent of the 5,286 Tabuk City residents. Some recipients were not present at the distribution, while others had already passed away, according to Sagun.
Those who have not yet received their checks are urged to travel to Tuguegarao and file a claim at Union Bank with all of the documents requested by the aforementioned office.
The program will be offered again in November of this year.
“Dagidiay haan nga naikkan barbareng diay sumaruno nga listaan nga ma-download nu November barbareng addan to iti nagan da,” Sagun ended.
As previously stated, only those with a land holding of two hectares or a minimum of 2,500 square meters are eligible. Only one person per home is eligible for support.
The aid is meant to assist rice farmers who have been affected by the implementation of Republic Act 11203, often known as the Rice Tariffication Law, which has resulted in low palay prices in the country. The money came from an extra rice tarriff collection of P83 billion.
