City officials recently gave due recognition and commendation to the Baguio Wedding and Events Suppliers Organization, Inc. (BWESO) for their outstanding contributions to the city.
Under Resolution No. 557, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the group’s steadfast dedication to enhance the city’s cultural landscape, supporting tourism, and serving the community with passion and integrity has significantly contributed to its vibrancy and resilience through the years, not only uplifting the spirit of the people but also strengthening the bonds between the community, making the city a beacon of culture, unity and service.
The council claimed that BWESO has always been dedicated to supporting the local government’s initiatives since 2021, marked by a deep commitment to civic duty and community service which has a profound impact to the city.
Further, the group has continually supported key local government activities such as, but not limited to, collaborating with the Department of Tourism (DOT) on cultural events like the Mangan Tako food festival, Media Night and Art in the Park, among others.
The council stipulated that the group has also coordinated with the local government in the conduct of activities such as the Christmas Tree lighting and the New Year countdown, which has brought joy and unity to the community.
Moreover, the group has partnered in community services during the COVID-19 pandemic, facilitating vaccination for their members, and assisting them in accessing essential government financial aid showcasing their resilience and leadership during challenging times.
More importantly, the group has continuously committed to civic engagements, especially in the organization of the annual Miss Baguio pageant, supporting the city representatives in various competitions conducting mass wedding ceremonies for the community, organizing medical missions in chosen barangays and hosting benefit dinners and other charitable activities.
