TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO) is aiming to develop the financial literacy skills of high school students by way of an awareness campaign.
Today, the CCEDO, with representatives from the Tabuk Multipurpose Cooperative (TAMPCO) and Treasure Link Cooperative Society (TLCS) went to Naneng National High School to discuss financial literacy education, covering savings investment and insurance for better financial decisions by the youth.
City Cooperatives Officer Karen Uera, puts emphasis on the need for every student to have a grasp on financial literacy at an early age to improve their economic well-being and that of the community as well.
According to Uera, managing personal finances and making educated financial decisions are essential, particularly in light of the rising anxiety over inflation. While Melvin Banggollay, Senior Community Development Specialist at CCEDO, expounded on the various uses of money and emphasized the significance of prudent financial decision-making.
Ronald Ryan Jose of the CCEDO, delved into the youth-specific savings formula and emphasized the importance of forming a savings habit early in life.
On the other hand, Renato Berlan of TAMPCO Laboratory Cooperative shed light on the Aflatoun savings program, aimed at instilling financial responsibility and independence among young individuals.
TLCS Lab Cooperative employee Jan Aubrey Beleo gave a presentation on the organization’s youth savings program, which highlights chances for students to actively participate in saving and investing for the future.
After Bulo National High School, Naneng NHS is the second location for information awareness. Tomorrow, April 4, Cudal National High School students will participate in the same exercise designed to deepen their grasp of financial management concepts. By Darwin S. Serion
