TABUK CITY, Kalinga – All employees of the city government must abide by the revised dress code as stated in the Memorandum Circular (MC) 16-2024 issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
This is the statement released by City Human Resource and Management Officer Jephte Feken during the Executive Committee meeting held today at the conference room.
Feken reiterated that all employees must wear ASEAN-inspired clothing every first Monday of the month, Filipiñana-inspired clothing on the second to fourth Mondays of the month, and agency-prescribed uniform from Tuesday to Friday.
ASEAN-inspired clothing are those that are influenced by the traditional clothing of ASEAN member countries including the Philippines, while Filipiñana clothing are those from traditional Filipino attire. Agency-prescribed uniforms must be appropriate to the workplace, he said.
The MC also states that collarless t-shirts, leggings, blouses with over-plunging necklines, backless, sleeveless, see-through clothing, short pants, sleeveless tops, ripped jeans, and skirts more than an inch above the knee, among others, are prohibited in the workplace. Grooming (haircut, hair color, beard) must also be observed and prescribed when it is a legitimate requirement for the job.
The MC states that violation of this revised dress code is grounds for disciplinary action under Civil Service rules.
Feken also reminded the department heads to monitor the compliance of their staff about this dress code. By Darwin Serion
