TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government has earned a total score of 86.14 for the 2023 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI).
Nurse Joy Alunday of the City Health Services Office said during the second quarter council meeting that there is an increase of 10.99 points from the 75.15 score garnered in 2022.
She said the Green Banner Seal of Compliance will be awarded by the Cordillera office of the Department of Health to the city for obtaining more than 85 points.
Meanwhile, in her presentation, the top five barangays which earned the highest MELLPI points are Dagupan Weste (78.80), Appas (78.59), Masablang (77.79), Bulanao Norte (77.71) and Dilag (77.09).
The MELLPI covers six dimensions: vision and mission, nutrition policies and laws, governance and organizational structure, Local Nutrition Committee functionality, nutrition service delivery, and change in nutritional status.
This MELLPI aims to monitor and evaluate local nutrition program implementation, determine the progress of implementation of Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition priorities, evaluate the performance of local nutrition focal points (LNFP), and determine good practices and challenges faced by local governments and LNFPs.
The MELPPI was conducted on April 24, 2024 by the Regional Nutrition Evaluation team.
Today’s Nutrition Council meeting, presided by City Administrator Noli Tenedero, also featured the semestral accomplishment reports from various office like the Schools Division Office of Tabuk City, Office for the City Agricultural Services, City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Special Concerns and Coordinating Office, City Population Development Office, and City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
