BAGUIO CITY – Various activities had been lined up by the city government and the private sector for the annual conduct of the Summer Vacation (SumVac) in Baguio 2025 that will run from March 26 to May 25, 2025.
The events started with the conduct of the Montanosa Film Festival last March 26 followed by the Art Appreciation and Creative Workshop last March 28-30.
From March 29-30, the Rillera’s Boutique Bazaar was held while the Life in Color will be held from March 29 to April 12.
There will also be the Ibag-iw Creative Village every Fridays to Sundays in April and May while the Baguio Crafts Fair will be held from April 5-6 at Yangco Road.
The Baguio Folk and Country Festival that seeks to gather folk singers, song writers and musicians, will be held at the Rose Garden on April 6 while the Araw ng Kagitingan will be held on April 9 at the Veterans Park.
The Holy Week activities will start on April 13 in various churches with the traditional Palm Sunday Mass that will be followed by a series of religious activities from April 14 which will be capped by the Easter Sunday mass on April 20.
The Search for the Baguio-Benguet Lucky Summer Visitor will be held from April 17-20 where it will be capped by the traditional Easter Egg Hunt spearheaded by the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club.
On April 23-26, the Baguio Dance Festival will be conducted followed by the 80th celebration of Baguio’s liberation on April 27.
On April 24-28, the 6th Mangan Tako Food Fair will be held at the Rose Garden while the annual Labor Day Jobs Fair will be held on May 1.
The annual celebration of the Sabsabong ti Mayo will be held on May 11 where people will be celebrating Mother’s Day and the flowers of May.
The Ahon Trail Trilogy will be held on May 4 followed by the annual conduct of the national and local elections on May 12.
The SUB-Baguio, which blends adventure, challenge and culture, will be held on May 25 while the National Flag Day will be held on May 26.
The annual celebration of the Summer Vacation in Baguio is an institutionalized activity of the city government and the private sector that seeks to provide residents and visitors an avenue for them to enjoy the summer break in the country’s undisputed Summer Capital. By Dexter A. See
