TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Following the launching of the Chikiting Ligtas vaccination against polio, measles, and rubella at the City Hall Canopy, local officials vow to support pertinent health programs in the city.
Speaking before Department of Health officials, the City Health Services Office, and other institutions, Mayor Darwin Estrañero stressed that he would open more positions based on the city government’s organizational structure.
Even though the city’s appropriated fund decreased this year, he explained they continued important city health programs and had kept many of the job orders.
In fact, he claimed that among all the divisions in the city government, the CHSO currently employs the most people.
On the other hand, Councilor Ivan Yannick Bagayao, who serves as the chairperson of the committee on health, shared his ambition to expand the city’s rural health facilities to all the barangays.
In order to provide the necessary services, he also requested that the DOH support and assist aspiring physicians more.
Bagayao brought his 11-month-old son to the launch as a role model father to support the government’s immunization program. By Ian Jefrey Addatu
