BAGUIO CITY – City officials were delighted over the positive comments of residents and visitors alike in both the social and traditional media on the decorations installed by the local government in the different parks and main roads in the central business district in time for the Yuletide season.
Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan said that the decorations installed by individuals in their residences and establishments are intended to spice up the merrymaking for the Yuletide season because what is important for the people is to celebrate the immeasurable love of the Lord who gave up his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to have the world from sins.
He underscored that people must learn to put to practice love, hope, forgiveness and humility in their daily lives for them to be able to give life to what the Lord has done and to achieve worldwide peace for the benefit of the present and future generation of inhabitants.
“Let us learn to forgive those who sinned against us, propagate unconditional love inside and outside our families, instill hope that we will continue to improve for the better and have in faith in the Lord in all the things we do in our lives,” Domogan stressed.
The local chief executive claimed that the city’s Christmas Tree in the Rose Garden, the installed lights along major roads, the lights and sounds in Malcolm Square among others were through the hardwork and initiative of the personnel of the City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO), City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) City Tourism Office, City Engineering Office and other related offices of the local government to maximize the limited resources that were allocated for the purpose and that city officials were elated to learn about the positive comments that the said decorations received from both the social and traditional media outfits when the said initiatives were launched last December 1, 2018.
Councilor Elmer O. Datuin, chairman of the City Council Committee on Tourism, Parks, Palygrounds and Special Events, claimed that it is enlightening and encouraging to note the positive remarks given by the public on this year’s decorations that were put in place by the local government that is why the said remarks will serve as an inspiration for the concerned personnel to introduce whatever desired innovations that could be done to attract the attention of residents and visitors In patronizing the city’s decorations in the coming years.
He expressed his gratitude to the management of the Development Back of the Philippines (DBP), Porta Vaga mall, SM City Baguio and other similar establishments within the central business district area for heeding the call of the local government to decorate their own establishments to add up to the spirit of Christmas for the duration of the Yuletide season.
Datuin explained that the local government always sends letters to the different establishment in the central business district requesting the owners to decorate their establishments during the |Yuletide season to spice up the spirit of Christmas for residents and visitors alike but there are only a few establishments who are heeding the said appeal while the city spends for the decorations in parks and major roads around the country’s undisputed Summer Capital.
