TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Task Force for clearing road obstructions has launched an operation in Barangay Agbannawag on March 3, in a proactive effort to ensure the safety and accessibility of local roadways.
The task force’s mission is to remind residents and business owners encroaching on road right-of-way areas to voluntarily remove their structures, which have posed challenges for traffic and pedestrian movement.
Residents have been given until the end of this week to comply as part of a continued initiative aimed at promoting public safety and enhancing the city’s infrastructure. This follows a series of notices previously issued to those affected.
City Legal Officer and head of the Task Force, Atty. Arthur Kub-ao, Sr., stated that a number of residents have already taken action to comply, while others have expressed their commitment to do so by the set deadline. “We appreciate the cooperation shown by those who understand and support this important effort,” Kub-ao said.
The task force will continue its work throughout the week, ensuring that the necessary steps are taken for the roads to be cleared and safe for all. As the city prioritizes road safety and accessibility, the cooperation of the community will be crucial in making barangay Agbannawag a safer and more navigable area for residents and visitors alike. Regular updates will be provided as the clearing progresses, underscoring the city’s commitment to maintaining an organized and functional urban environment.
