BAGUIO CITY – The city’s Local Council on Disability Affairs (LCDA) will be conducting a consultative meeting and workshop to craft the local government’s three -year disability affairs plan geared towards advancing the interest of the persons with disabilities (PWDs) in a hotel along Legarda road on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) head Dr. Samuel G. Aquino said that the workshop will be facilitated by regional director Antonette Anaban of the Cordillera office of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) to allow the council to be able to formulate the desired disability affairs plan that will be beneficial to the PWD sector.
The council members will be briefed on the stationaries and relevant statistics on PWDs in the city that will serve as one of the basis for the formulation of the aforesaid plan,
Further, members will also be appraised on the ongoing programs, services and activities for PWDs for this year to allow the members to make the necessary suggestion and recommendations on the possibility of enhancing the said initiatives for the next three years to contribute in uplifting the status of the PWDs in the city in the coming years.
Earlier, the local government created the LCDA pursuant to existing laws, rules and regulations to contribute in advancing the welfare of PWDs within the jurisdiction of the city.
