BAGUIO CITY – The City Treasury Office reported its significant accomplishments, especially in terms of the collection of the city government’s tax and non-tax revenues in 2024, to allow the city to sustain its efforts in enhancing the delivery of basic services and implementation of quality development projects.
In terms of tax revenue, the city collected PhP711.23 million last year compared to the PhP657.81 million collection during the previous year showing a 8.12% increase.
On the other hand, in terms of non-revenue collections, the city collected some PhP522.71 million last year, higher by 12.65 percent compared to the PhP435.5 million collected the previous year.
However, the city’s external source of income decreased by 6.12 percent, from PhP1.488 billion in 2023 to only PhP1.39 billion last year, due to a significant decline in the city’s share from the proceeds of the establishments operating in the Baguio-based Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), from the targeted collection of PhP220 million to only more than PhP165 million last year.
The city government collected more than PhP2.631 billion in both internal and external sources of income last year compared to the PhP2.360 billion during the previous year, around 11.46 percent more than the previous collection.
The city treasury office’s accomplishment is a testament to the teamwork and kindness between and among the concerned officials and employees of the department under the stewardship of City Treasurer Ales Cabarrubias.
The city government continues to work on the aggressive collection of internally and externally generated sources of income to be used for the enhancement of the delivery of basic services and the implementation of high impact projects that are beneficial in uplifting the lives of people in the city’s 128 barangays.
