BUGUIAS, Benguet – The leadership of the Benguet Provincial Public Safety Company (BPPSC) announced that the Superintendent Jonathan G. Calixto Commander’s Cup 5-stage shootfest will be held at the Camp Dennis Molintas here on October 10-11, 2015.
Originally, the shootfest was scheduled on Oct6ober 3-4, 2015, but it was moved to a later date because of the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kabayan that brought heavy rains and strong winds to the different parts of the region.
Superintendent Calixto, BPPSC commanding officer, cited the shootfest is aimed at generating funds that will be used for the purchase of basic search and rescue equipment in order for them to be able to effectively and efficiently perform their search and rescue responsibilities.
“Our experience during our recent search and rescue operations in sitio Elizabeth, barangay Taneg in Mankayan served as our lessons for us to continue providing for added search and rescue equipment to make the job of future rescuers easier,” Calixto stressed.
Aside from the conduct of the 2-day shootfest, the BPPSC will also be holding the first regular meeting of the Company Advisory Council (CAC) as one of the sidelights of the competition.
Winners of the shooting competition will be receiving surprise prizes offered by the BPPSC to serve as their token in attending the same.
Calixto extended the invitation to all interested gun enthusiasts to actively participate in the shooting competition for them to be able to contribute in raising adequate funds for the purpose of raising resources for their planned purchase of added units of search and rescue equipment for rescuers and volunteers.
