LUNA, Apayao – Lone District of Apayao Representative Hon. Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang administered a ceremonial oath taking as she swore in 176 recently elected barangay officials of Luna, Apayao.
Taking place at the BGVJr. Memorial Sports Center in Poblacion on November 29, 2023, the ceremony marked the commencement of these barangay officials’ term extending until 2025.
The officials sworn in comprised of 22 punong barangays and 154 barangay kagawad, all committing to dedicated and principled service to their respective barangays.
Said oath-taking event was attended by officials from the municipal government, community members, and supporters who gathered to witness the formal induction of these newly elected officials.
Bulut-Begtang delivered an inspirational speech, applauding the officials for their commitment to public service.
“Dayawen kayo ta in-volunteer yu iti bagbagi yu nga agserbi iti bumarangay. Saan mo ibagbaga nga kapitan ka laeng wennu kagawad ka laeng. Sikayo iti direkta nga makinpinpinnulapol iti tattao. Kasta kayo kaimportante. Iti panagserbi yu aggapo kuma iti puso. Adda iti ayat ken saan nga mapilpilit. Saan nga narigat iti agserbi nu naimpusuan,” she said.
Likewise, in a gesture of support for the newly elected officials and their barangays, a financial assistance of PhP50,000 each from the provincial government was announced. The monetary aid is intended to assist the barangays in implementing local projects and addressing the needs of their constituents. By JCM
