TUBA, Benguet– The municipal council chaired by Vice Mayor Maria L. Carantes declared Benguet caretaker congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eric Go Yap as the town’s Adopted Son.
Resolution No. 88, series of 2020, unanimously approved by the municipal council during its previous regular session stated that with his advocacy of service to the people, altruism, dedication and impartiality, the officialdom of the municipality foresees the continued progress and development of Benguet with Tuba as one of its municipalities pursuant to his aspiration of converting Benguet from a second-class to a first-class province by 2022.
Congressman Yap led the inauguration of a portion of the Taloy-Norte-San Pascual package of the outer ring of the Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay (BLISTT) circumferential road that jumpstarted his various visits to the different municipalities of the province while distributing financial assistance to beneficiaries under the different programs of the government agencies.
Yap, who chairs the powerful House committee on appropriations, was elected into public office as one of the successful nominees of the ACT-CIS Party-list group for the 18th Congress where ACT-CIS was declared as the top party-list group during the 2019 national and local elections.
