LUNA, Apayao – Three key barangays in Conner have recently benefited from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program.
Barangay Ili received support to construct a road link to the Ili National High School while Barangay Caglayan was granted funding for a road project connecting to Umbog National High School. Meanwhile, Barangay Banban was assisted in building a drying facility.
These projects aim to empower local communities by enabling government agencies and barangay organizations to take ownership and ensure the sustainability of these initiatives.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Jorlyn Ligawad from DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, along with Mayor Atty. Jorico F. Bayaua, Vice Mayor Alexander M. Aswigue, Board Member Vincent Talattag, and DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Deputy Regional Manager Manuel M. Ocaña, Jr.
This handover marks a significant milestone in the joint efforts of DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, the Conner municipal government, and their partners towards community development and empowerment. These projects are expected to have lasting positive impacts on the communities they serve, fostering sustainable growth and development. By Krizza Joy Castillo
