CONNER, Apayao – The municipal government officially turned-over a 2,000-square meter lot to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Cordillera intended for the creation of its satellite warehouse and expanded SWAD Apayao Office.
On March 28, DSWD Field Office CAR Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla, Apayao Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, Conner Mayor Atty. Jorico F. Bayua participated in the signing of the deed of donation witnessed by the officialdom of Conner.
In his acceptance message, Quintilla extended his deepest gratitude to the municipal government Unit for their generosity, donating a 2,000 square meter lot to the field office.
Rep. Begtang in her keynote message, narrated the challenges they experienced in the previous years in the province of Apayao including its vulnerability to various natural and human-induced hazards or calamities. Considering the terrain of the region, logistical concerns especially on the availability of relief goods will be addressed with the presence of the satellite warehouses in the province.
The event was also joined by the members of Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Alexander M. Aswigue, barangay officials, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Jocelyn Loyon, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Jennifer Daligdig, Pastor Urbano Batay-an, DSWD Field Office CAR SWAD Apayao Team Leader Gretchen Pudao, DRMD OIC-Division Chief Marifil C. Jugal, PDRS Section Head Angela Ocawe and DSWD FOCAR Staff.
