After the successful participation of Baguio City Judokas in the University of the Philippines Judo Slam last March 28,2015, Baguio City Judokas eye’s participation anew in the Ateneo De Manila invitational Judo tilt entitled “HAJIME 2015” on April 25, 2015 sponsored by the Ateneo Judo Association, to be held at the Blue Eagle Gym, Ateneo De Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
Events partaking in the tournament will include three categories, Kids and Cadets division, and open belt division classified in five weight and age divisions for boys and girls as well as men and women participants.
Weight and age divisions are as follows; KIDS Category – Boys and Girls (7 years and below) -27 kgs, +27 Kgs, ( 8-9 years old) boys -25kgs., -35kgs, +35kgs. girls- -22kgs,-29kgs,+29kgs, (10-12 years old) boys -42kgs, -46kgs,+46kgs. Cadet Category – (13 – 15 years old) boys – -55kgs, -73kgs, +73kgs, girls – -45kgs, -57kgs,+57kgs.
Likewise, the 16 years old and above, Open-Belt Category for men and women divided in eight weight class are as follows; Men – -55kgs,-60kgs,-66kgs,-73kgs,-81kgs,-90kgs,-100kgs,+100kgs. for girls – -44kgs,-48kgs,-52kgs,-57kgs,-63kgs,-70kgs,-78kgs,and +78kgs, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Cordillera Judo Association looks forward to the participation of all CJA clubs in Baguio City and Benguet as part of its campaign for the promotion of the sport JUDO as well as the development of young athletes. The CJA also looks forward for the possible conduct of an invitational Judo tournament in Baguio City come May 2015.
